This is a very solid program. I have a bit to learn, but that is reasonable. When embarking on a totally new course, I expect to have to learn new things and master new skills.

What I have also learned about what I am doing is that if you really want to do it right, you need to make sure the hardware you are using is working right and installed correctly.

I had to rebuild my old BIC turntable. That included getting a new stylus, replacing the platter ballbearings, replacing the belt and lubricating the turntable. It also required properly mounting and aligning my cartridge. Finally, I had to work through the various issues in terms of connecting it to my computer. There are many ways to do that. I have finally chosen to go directly from my stereo to my computer and that required learning about and dealing with ground loop issues. It also required getting a new audio board to replace the on-board audio that came with my motherboard.

The waves I am recording now are about as pure as I could hope for. They require no filtering. Well kids, if you're looking for the perfect sound recording, editing and producing system from your desk top or lap top this is it my friends.

For interviews, music or putting together podcasts, Sony has the system you'll use for years. Yes, there are updated versions and I've used them and love them too but I'm more of a "get good product initially and you don't have to use too many bells and whistles afterwards" guy.

But Amazon will get this to you fast and at a price you can afford-so you can record some of your own podcast reviews -or maybe even write a hit song! I first purchased Cakewalk Pyro which was 20 bucks cheaper - the Cakewalk jammed on me multiple times half way through recording sessions, no customer support reponse, etc. Terrible product. So, then I purchased the Sony Sound Forge. Beautiful, smooth, flawless recording program - twelve times better than the Cakewalk Pyro.

Never jammed on me - not even once. I got a real person when I called customer support with a minor issue not an answering machine like I got with Cakewalk. This is the best alternative to a true high end professional recording software program. This software was just right for me. I don't have a lot of experience in audio editing and still don't , but this software along with my microphone, allowed me to produce as close to a studio quality sound as one possibly can.

I've used a limited amount of the features on Sound Forge Audio Studio 9, and yet my finish product still sounds fairly good. Note: I am a protectionist, and if it doesn't sound right I keep redoing it until it meet "MY" standards. I would recommend this software to anyone new to recording, and don't want to spend a small fortune pay for "professional sound quality engineers".

It is fairly easy to work with. The software give you a tutorial on all of it features. I am currently using Windows Vista and has not encountered any problems what so ever with compatibility. I used sound forge to edit two albums in and , so I ordered the latest version to continue working on editing.

I recieved my package in a timely manner and began using it immediately. It had all the features I worked with a decade ago, in an easy to use more streamlined form and am continually discovering more functions that are useful.

There is not much ways you can alter the voice other then pitch. Maybe I should have not bought this version and instead bought one that does not have the word Studio. There is no instructional book with this item, and I was wondering if I could use the book for Sound Forge 3 with this version? To me this is a waste of 50 dollars, which I could return it and get my money back. This program is nothing more than single track recording software. I thought there would be multi-tracking built in, but this is NOT the case.

Buyer beware, this product is for single track editing only. Waste of money, and since its software, I cannot return now that its been loaded onto my laptop. Just looking for a low cost alternative to purchasing some high-end multi-tracking software. What's worse is from the cover of the software packaging, it appears there is multi-tracking ability. Stay away from this product. But once again the old adage applies.

Free shareware Audacity offers more features, particularly automatic parsing of recordings into individual tracks. Sound Forge suggests users create multiple files, one for each track.

What is most disappointing, however, is Sony's technical support. There is NONE. Two simple questions posted properly have gone unanswered for weeks. No reason to believe that third time would be a charm. Get fast answers from reviewers. Please make sure that you are posting in the form of a question.
